Laser Genesis Skin Therapy is an innovative, technologically advanced treatment that encourages vibrant and healthy looking skin. As the name suggests it uses laser therapy to gently heat the deep layers of skin and promote new collagen production.
It can be used to correct many skin conditions including diffuse and excessive redness/rosacea, uneven skin texture, and large open pores.
It is also very effective in the treatment of acne and surgical scarring. Relax and enjoy the benefits – the gentle warming of the skin is relaxing and pain free. Depending on the skin condition to be addressed, treatments can range from fifteen minutes to an hour and the number of treatments required can range from two to six or more. Treatments are two to four weeks apart.

What is Laser Genesis?
Laser Genesis is a non-invasive laser that uses technology to gently heat the upper layer of the skin by distributing laser energy over thousands of micro pulses. The gentle heat stimulates collagen regrowth and gives a beautiful glow to the skin. Laser Genesis is the ultimate lunchtime procedure—your skin will be completely rejuvenated in under a half-hour, getting you back to your office before lunch hour is over.
Who is a good candidate for Laser Genesis laser?

You MUST avoid sun exposure for at least 3 weeks before and after the treatment because the area treated will be more prone to burning and increased pigmentation during this period. Apply a 30+ or 50+ sunblock frequently and daily for 1-2 weeks after treatment.
How many treatments will give me the optimal result?
The treatment results are often subtle. On average you may require 4 to 6 treatments in order to achieve optimal results. You can have laser genesis 1-4 weeks apart.

Will my skin require preparation before?

What do I need to do immediately before the treatment?
Avoid sun exposure, exercise, and high-intensity exercise. Stop using retinol, AHA/BHA 3 days prior to treatment.
Is it painful? Will I need a local anesthetic or other medication?
The treatment is often described as relaxing and therapeutic therefore local anesthetic is not required for the treatment.
Do I need to take time off work?
No. There is essentially no downtime with this treatment, you can experience mild pinkness that subsides within a few hours.
What do I need to do in the weeks after my treatment?

What is a Carbon Laser Treatment?
A Carbon Laser Treatments is a medical-grade mask composed of mineral mud of volcanic rock, applied to the skin prior to our Laser Rejuvenation facials.
This advanced laser treatment has been designed to improve the skin’s overall appearance by;

The treatments work by applying a thin layer of the carbon mask onto the skin, which will then penetrate deep into the pores. This abolishes any dead skin, excess oil, and impurities that the peel has engaged with, thus cleansing and exfoliating the skin simultaneously. What areas can be treated?
The Carbon Laser Treatment can be used on any body area in which consists of uneven skin tone, fine lines & wrinkles, acne, or surface pigmentation. The most common areas of treatment include the face, neck, decolletage, hands, back, and buttocks. Treatments are relatively fast, provide little to no discomfort, and have no downtime – which means you are able to carry on with your day after your treatment with no inconvenience. Unlike Laser Rejuvenation facials on their own, you will see immediate results as well as gradual results over several weeks following your treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required varies per individual, as results are dependent on your skin type, the area being treated, as well as the area size. As a guide, carbon laser treatments usually require 6-8 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart. Contact us to arrange a free laser consultation to discuss a laser treatment plan that suits your needs. Many clients decide to return every 6-8 weeks after the initial course of treatments in order to maintain their results.
Can Laser Hair Removal treatments be done at the same time?
On the treated area, Laser Hair Removal can be done 1 week before commencing a course of Carbon Laser Treatments. No hair will be able to grow through once Carbon Laser Treatments are in the progress. If any hair does grow through Nd: Yag laser will discolour that hair and it will fall out within 1 or 2 weeks. This can happen especially on the lip area.
Are there any Precautions to take during treatment?
As with all laser treatments, especially with Laser Hair Removal and Q-Switched Laser treatments, you must avoid exposure to direct sunlight before treatment, during treatment, and for some weeks following treatment. We sometimes need to refer clients to their General Medical Practitioner for assessment and when in doubt will not treat until a Medical Clearance is provided. SPF must be worn daily.

PREPERATION
Shave
Shave the treatment area the night before your appointment.
No Wax
Do not wax in the 4 weeks leading up to your appointment as the pigment is required in the hair follicle for the laser to identify the hair and treatment to be effective.
Avoid direct sunlight
Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for 2 weeks prior to your treatment and always protect the skin with sunscreen.
AFTERCARE
Post care
There may be some mild heat and redness in areas that have been treated. Soothe any redness and sensitivity with O Cosmedics Medi Soothe. This can be applied liberally for 3-5 days or until the skin has returned to its pre-treatment state.
Things to avoid
For 24 hours post-treatment, avoid shaving, waxing, or plucking hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, very hot showers, and tight restrictive clothing.
Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for 2 weeks after your treatment and always use the O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 30+ to protect the skin and maintain results.
Skincare
O Cosmedics Corrective Cleanser is recommended to use 5 days post-treatment to ensure the hair is encouraged to shed from the follicle and aid in the treatment of ingrown hairs.

IPL – Vascular & Pigmentation Treatment
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a light therapy that breaks up pigmentation and redness, creating a more even skin tone and improving the skin texture. Our IPL is medical grade. IPL is the same as BBL (broadband light therapy)
IPL treats a range of conditions including:
- Rosacea/redness & dilated blood vessels
- Superficial pigmentation- age spots, uneven skin tone
- Acne
- Skin rejuvenation- improves skin softness, elasticity and induces collagen
Please note that excessive sun damage can cause changes in skin colour and tone. IPL alone does not treat sun damage. In these cases,we advise you to start with prescribed home care to treat sun damaged skin. We may then use Q switch laser afterwards to “mop up”deeper pigmentation.
Booking your treatment
Consultation
You must have an initial consultation first to assess your skin and ensure your skin is suitable for treatment. We will also do a test patch prior to treating, which may need a few days to settle. Darker skin types will need to prepare the skin for 4-6 weeks before treatments.We do this for safety reasons.
Procedure Time
60 minutes. Your treatment will combine IPL and other modalities to optimise your results.
IPL may feel mildly uncomfortable, like an elastic band hitting the skin. If you have an impaired skin barrier, we may advise a series of other treatments first to prepare your skin for IPL.
Recommended Plan
IPL is done every 3-4 weeks for 3-5 sessions. Active acne and severe rosacea require more sessions and we combine this with other advanced dermal treatments.
Planning
Plan your treatment at least a week before a special event.
Downtime / Aftercare
Expect redness and swelling for up to 48 hours post-treatment. Rosacea suffers may experience mild swelling on the cheeks for a few days. A cool compress will help relieve this. Dark pigment may increase after treatment and then fall off/fade after a few weeks.
